What We Do

In Your Corner runs boxing projects for young people & adults to support emotional wellbeing. We take evidence-based ideas from psychological intervention and deliver them in a flexible way alongside non-contact boxing skills in boxing clubs and accessible community settings.

We work with people to develop their skills in understanding and regulating their emotions and behaviour. We use boxing as a route to engage people, with the aim of supporting physical and emotional wellbeing, development of boxing skills and sense of connection to other people.

We work with local referring partners across targeted youth services in health and social care. In Your Corner groups are co-facilitated by a clinical psychology team and ABAE accredited boxing coaches. We have a key partnership with London Community Boxing (Southwark, London), and work across London.

We also work with boxing organisations, sports providers, and mental health providers to develop, deliver and evaluate sports based projects that successfully engage and create change in emotional wellbeing. We do this through bespoke packages of consultation, training, clinical supervision and joint working.

We are passionate about the power of boxing to create positive change for young people and adults experiencing a range of adversities in their lives. We believe that the most positive environments for change are those where relationships are prioritised and where people feel empowered to create the kind of groups they want to be part of. We are strongly committed to an evidence-based stance to all our work, where our team are all qualified mental health specialists. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise.
